Sajid Khan’s 10-Wicket Haul Powers Pakistan to Victory!

Pakistan secured a historic win over England in the Rawalpindi Test, defeating the visitors by nine wickets on day three and clinching the three-match series 2-1. The victory marks Pakistan’s first home Test series win since February 2021 and their first home series win over England since 2015.

Sajid Khan and Noman Ali were unstoppable as they shared 19 wickets, dismantling England’s batting line-up. Sajid recorded a remarkable 10-wicket haul, becoming the first spinner and third overall to achieve this feat in Rawalpindi. Noman’s 6-42 and Sajid’s 4-69 finished England off in their second innings for just 112 runs, leaving Pakistan with a target of only 36.

Captain Shan Masood’s side needed only 19 balls to chase down the small target. Although opener Saim Ayub fell to Jack Leach for eight runs, Masood played an aggressive innings, hitting four consecutive fours and finishing with a six to wrap up the match swiftly. This victory is Masood’s second as Test captain.

England started day three at 24-3 and added just 88 more runs before being bowled out. Joe Root scored 33, but he found little support as Pakistan’s spinners ran through England’s lineup. England’s highest scores came from Harry Brook with 26 and Gus Atkinson and Jack Leach, who each added 10.

Saud Shakeel was named Player of the Match for his century in the first innings, helping Pakistan to 344 runs. Sajid Khan’s impressive 19 wickets over two games earned him the Player of the Series title, as he led Pakistan’s bowling attack throughout.
